Volunteer – Pocatello Race for the Cure
Our volunteers are the energy that power our promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever. This is everybody’s fight and we need you now more than ever! Know that each minute you share gives hope to those affected by breast cancer in our community.
Volunteering for the Pocatello Race for the Cure is easy – here is how you do it:
- Look over the jobs below where we can use YOUR help!
- Enter in your information so we are able to say in contact with you along the way.
- Create a volunteer profile by choosing and username/password (it is best to use your e mail as that is unique to you). This way you are able to keep track of your volunteers shifts.
- Select your shift time. Some jobs may have multiple shifts. Please pick the one that works best for you.
EXPO SET-UP/TAKE DOWN
Assisting Komen staff and committee members with set-up and take-down of the Race Expo. This will include putting out tables and chairs assisting sponsor with their booths and take-down post-race. This position has 2 shifts – click the time below that works best for you!
Assists Ford representatives with handing our Ford Warriors in Pink scarves to Race participants.
Be part of the 2016 Miles of Mail campaign to collect 26,000 letters this year. Assist the Girls Love Mail program to collect hand-written letters of encouragement for newly diagnosed breast cancer survivors/forever fighters.
New Balance is a National Komen partner. Volunteers will help pass out give-a-ways to participants.
Race for the Cure participants receive a t-shirt and race bib as the race packet for the Pocatello Race. Volunteers will help look up participants’ registrations and pull race packets for them. Other duties will include set-up and/or take-down of the packet pick-up space.
There are 2 shift options for the position – please choose the time below that works best for you. PLEASE NOTICE THE LOCATION CHANGE.
- Friday, October 7th – 10:00am – 03:00pm (at the Holiday Inn Express) >>
- Saturday, October 8th – 07:30am – 11:00am (at the Portneuf Wellness Complex) >>
This position requires a few able-bodied men and women to assist the course manager with setting up barriers, directing participants to line up in appropriate area, making sure participants stay on the race course, and helping with course management during the event. This job involves some moderate lifting and people management.
Be a volunteer who helps other volunteers! Greet volunteers with a smile on Race Day. The Volunteer Tent will be all volunteers first stop and it will be your job to check them in, get them a t-shirt and distribute them to their volunteer shift.
