Metastatic Breast Cancer Advisory Council

Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) Advisory Council

What: The Susan G. Komen Idaho Montana Metastatic Breast Cancer Advisory Council assists the Komen Idaho Montana staff and Board of Directors in knowing how best to serve the local MBC community. Members of the Council will be asked to provide ideas and feedback about Idaho and Montana MBC events, education, community outreach, and more.

Who: The MBC Advisory Council is comprised of Montanans and Idahoans living with metastatic breast cancer. Terms are not set; members of the Council may serve as long as they desire.

When: The Advisory Council meets twice a year, once in January and once in July. Those in the Boise area can come to the Komen Idaho Montana office (1203 S. Five Mile Rd, Boise) for the meetings, and those outside the area can join the meeting on their phone or computer. If Komen Idaho Montana is planning a large MBC event, like a conference, the Advisory Council may be asked to provide thoughts and ideas by phone, email, or at an additional meeting.

Why: The needs of the MBC community are pressing and yet individualized. Advances in treatment and approaches are happening all the time. Idahoans and Montanans with advanced cancer have challenges unique to our part of the country. Susan G. Komen Idaho Montana wants to serve those Forever Fighters in the best way possible, and the Advisory Council helps achieve that goal.
